About The Christian Heretic

Welcome to The Christian Heretic

Hi. I’m your host, Drew Costen. I’m currently stationed out of Toronto, Ontario here in Canada, but I plan to explore other parts of the world as time goes on.

You should know that I started out as a pretty orthodox guy. Actually, I was fairly fundamentalist at one time.

For a long time I thought that the traditional ways were the right ways, both theologically and socially speaking. From a religious perspective I did all the right things, read all the right books, and went to church regularly. From a social perspective I spent over a decade working the 9-5 and assuming that was the only way I could make a living.

I eventually learned, however, that the rules I’d been taught didn’t actually have to be followed. I discovered that religion is a farce and that wage-slavery isn’t a virtue. Now I’m here to help you realize the same truth I’ve discovered, that freedom is a reality if you want it to be.

Now Go Away

Warning: This site might not be for you. If you’re not interested in freedom, or if you’re just here to tell me that I’m wrong, then this is not the place for you (CARM or some other more “orthodox” site may be more to your liking).

But, before you go, remember that heresy is often just the rejection of commonly accepted error.

Welcome Again

With all that in mind, welcome again to The Christian Heretic. Now sit back and enjoy as I share my thoughts on theology, philosophy, and life in general from the mindset of, “just because it’s orthodox doesn’t mean it’s true.”
