Great comment Ragamuffin7. Notice how Jesus forgave before the cross too?
There is no bad news.
I know people would be shocked at "sin boldly" but they would also be shocked to hear that Luther said that

Repent (metanoia-Greek) NEVER means "to change your life style". It simply means "To change mind". And forgiveness comes first, followed by repentance. Jesus offered free forgiveness to the woman caught in adultery (where was the guilty guy?!?) and she didn't even ask for forgiveness! Jesus did the same with the woman at the well (a sexual sinner) and the criminal on the cross next ti Himself. Jesus also raised Lazarus-and all Lazarus could do was lie there, smell bad, and keep getting worse. Repentance is NOT a condition to be met for forgivenss. Jesus is simply crazy about sinners and would rather died than be without us! There's no bad new in the Good News! Romans 5:20. Sin boldly-Go ahead-sin boldly-but trust in Jesus even more boldly! WE'RE FREE!!!

As far as I can tell, the post does not criticise Christians - it just points out the flaws in the way it has become a 'religion' when it was not meant to be. It has become all about avoiding 'sin' - which in fact usually makes it worse.
This sums it up for me:
"On the contrary, we realize that, even with our imperfections, God accepts us just the way we are".

Why not read the rest? Then make a comment. Christianity has become a religion, but it was not meant to be.

Christ demanded that we repent ( change our life style) and be baptisted ( a ritual). He also said if you love me you will obey me. He also made the ritual of the last super, even by your posted difinitions that is a religion. The Christian religion was never about will power to avoid evil but love to please God (Jesus also said he was God). Please don't transcribe your weakness to others you don't have the right to speak for me.
Christians have never said they were perfect just forgiven.

Great post! Christianity was never meant to be a religion in my view. Unfortunately it has become one, because man likes to make everything into something he can control. But Jesus came to abolish religion, and the religionists killed him for it. I think the word religion means to bind. Yet Christ came to set the captives free not create more captives. How did we get it so wrong for so long?

I hold to Universalism myself and it is a common misnomer that it is just a license to sin. However, as you stated in the article, when I quit worrying about sin all the time (as I did in my conservative days) it is amazing how much good I actually end up doing.

95% of Americans have premarital sex: http://www.usatoday.com/news/health/2006-12-19-premarital-sex_x.htmAnd study after study shows that the vast majority of Christian men consume pornography (and, in my experience, Christian women enjoy it as well, though perhaps not as high a percentage of women as men). A simple Google search will show this.
