There were very notable and pious Pharisees and Jesus taught those who followed him not to sin, remember his continued words "Go and sin no more"? It is also ignorant to imply that a person is incapable of giving something up. In fact humans are quite capable of stopping a habit or even a sin. Your article heavily implies that it is impossible for a person to stop doing something ever. That is a seriously weak argument.
