- compound associations
- near associations
- circumlocutions or periphrasis
- paradoxes
- numerology and possibly gematria
- omitted nouns
- omitted verbs
- unfinished sentences
- omission or non-sequence

Remember that just because a passage seems like it should be interpreted literally in Scripture doesn’t necessarily mean that it definitely should be.
